Civil War

Well, the election saga drags on, and since I don't have anything else particularly exciting to spout off about, this is as good a topic as any.

With all of the alleged voting irregularities in Florida, this debacle could drag on for months, if not for the entire term of the next President. I can see only two possible solutions.

First, the country could divide itself, with one half proclaiming Gore as their leader, and the other half behind Bush. Then we could have a bloody battle the likes of which has never been seen before.

But really, no one can get that excited about either of these guys, so that is highly unlikely. Basically, the reason that the election was so close is that both men are equally unappealing choices.

The second option is to have Gore and Bush square off, mano a mano, and try to beat the crap out of one another. Last man standing wins. This isn't really productive, but it at least has the advantage of being entertaining. Nader and Buchanan can go at it as a warmup fight; maybe the two winners could slug it out after that.

With the way things are going, Gore and Bush would probably knock each other out, and then we'd have to vote on a winner all over again.

You can respond to my ranting here.

Miles to go before I rant.
