Well, it looks like I am finally going to join the world of the well wired. Cable modems have finally come to Pepperell, and since we are in one of the newer subdivisions, we are one of the first to be able to access the new service. In theory, I am getting hooked up on the 18th of this month (2001/0/17, by my new calendar - ha ha ha).
I will probably retain my old internet service provider for a while, at least until I figure out how to host my own web site, if that is possible. I'd really like to have my web site locally hosted if I can manage it, because that would remove the rather paltry storage limits imposed by the officially sanctioned web site. Ten megabytes just doesn't cut it in these days of multi-gigabyte hard drives.
Look for changes in the quantity of information available from my site within the next few months. I will be more likely to post large amounts of pictures and movies once I can transfer them at a reasonable rate. A web cam is also a possibility, although finding a subject might be challenging. Perhaps 24 hour surveillance of the swimming pool? Lucky viewers could witness unfortunate animals succumbing to the better mousetrap that is our pool.
As far as changes to the quality of information available from my site - well, don't hold your breath.
You can respond to my ranting here.
I'd like to teach the world to rant, in perfect harmony.
