Happily for many creatures, the death count has been quite low this year.  Unfortunately, that is making for a boring web page.

I fixed the "days pool open" count.  This has excited me to no end.  I may actually have to swim in the pool to cool down, rather than just using it as a better mouse trap.

Well, this weekend was productive - a dead chipmunk and a mouse.  I actually have photos this time, which I have just posted.  Remember - life is difficult, but death is even more so.
I am also reorganizing this page to be reverse chronological (at least for recent stuff).  And I added a hit counter.  Guestbook is here!

At long last, we have gotten a pool robot.  It doesn't work too well yet - some fine tuning is required, apparently.  Only disadvantage - it is going to be mighty gross to get mice and chipmunks out of that filter bag.

Still no dead stuff.  But the water is clearing up nicely, now that my spouse has actually figured out what we were supposed to be doing - I just was tossing in random chemicals and hoping for a miracle (or at least a really cool explosion).

The pool is finally open (one day later than expected, and much later than last year).  It is swamplike in the extreme.  I found a dead chipmunk near the heater, but that doesn't count.  I did hurl it into the woods with the pool skimmer though - I figured it was good practice, and hey, who really wants to see Chippy getting bloated and eaten in that fabulous "circle of life"?  Not me, that's for sure.
