The pool has been closed for . Unlike previous years, I took a lazy approach to capturing images of every rodent, amphibian, and extraordinary insect that took its final swim in our pool. September 5, 2009What a lousy year to have a pool. I took lots of pictures (well, some pictures anyway) of dead stuff this so-called summer, but I haven't gotten around to posting them yet. And the pool has been so uninviting this year, I have just thrown up my hands and closed it quite early. When I get some free time I will post the pictures that I have. Blah. June 28, 2009The season's first casualty happens to be our new old friend the Star-Nosed Mole. This picture isn't great, but the leg and the claws are pretty distinctive. He was floating ever so peacefully in the southern (deep-end) skimmer. On another note, the pool is being more of a pain than usual this year, partly because of the never-ending rain we've been having and partly because of some mysterious white foamy stuff that wants to gather around the deep skimmer.
